A fire risk assessment is carried out to assess the existing condition of a building, in particular, the safety of the people of the surrounding buildings and is not a kind of ‘health check’ for building. The purpose of the fire risk assessment is to provide an opinion in general condition especially in fire safety of the building, report and recommend any urgent or future repairs that required and the likely consequences of non-repair. The fire risk assessment will also benefit the owner to have a good exposure and understanding on the fire safety of the building, as the building survey report provides information on fire safety risk, opinion on the possible causes of the fire hazard and recommending the appropriate and effective remedial work and necessary maintenance or modification works to maintain the property. During inspection, the inspector will write any finding to paper or printing form and capture the finding using camera, then, return to office to filter picture from camera. Meanwhile, if there were any major finding, the inspector need to draft a report for the owner with the limited time for the inspector to prepare printing form for next day inspection. Furthermore, the weakness of paper based form use up a lot of paper which is not eco-friendly. The main objective for this apps is to change from paper based form to apps in mobile application. It’s an alternative solution to ensure the inspection more effective and efficiently to perform a better inspection, in less time, free of paper or printing form and reducing the overall cost.
